Getting a .TEL Name
You don’t need your own .TEL name to use Hornet. You can look up and store contact information for any friend, business contact or business that has a .TEL name. Good names are going fast though with some experts predicting there will be more than a billion .TEL ID’s registered in the next few years. To get your name, or check whether it is still available, use the “Get your .TEL” search box at the top of every page.
Private Information
When you look up a .TEL name, you’ll be able to see all of the public information available, but .TEL also allows owners to restrict access to personal information, so that only friends, family, business contacts or other people they know can see it. This might include a cell number, home telephone number, email address, etc.
You can request to see a .TEL owner’s private information by sending them a friend request. To send a friend request, you must have a free TelFriends account. Enter your TelFriends credentials once in Hornet to view any friend’s private contact information. Private information is indicated by an asterisk (*) after the data.
