TelFriends, Friending and Privacy
.TEL owners can elect to make certain information private, such as a home telephone number, so that only authorized people can view it.
To view private data, you must have a free TelFriends account available at www.telfriends.com and the .TEL owner must have elected to share private information and also has a TelFriends account.
The person wishing to see private data initiates a friend request. The .TEL owner accepts the request and assigns the requestor to a group that determines which private data can be seen and which cannot.
Hornet simplifies the friending process by enabling you to log into your telfriends account permanently by choosing “Login Credentials” from the List View Menu. Once you’re logged in, you can send a friend request to any .TEL owner.
When your friend request is accepted, you will receive email notification as part of the normal friending process. View the contact in Hornet and Refresh the contact and you will now be able to see private data as permitted by the .TEL owner. Private information in indicated by an asterisk (*) after the data.
Hornet checks for an updated friends list every time you launch it. If a friend request is accepted immediately, force an update of the friends list by selecting “Refresh Friends List” from the List View Menu. Once confirmed, view the contact’s details and select “Refresh”. You should now be able to see the private data.
